An Intense Pulsed Light reaches small superficial red vessels; and a high energy pulsed light treats the deeper blue veins. During the treatment, the light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the blood allowing thermal relaxation of the vessel; over time the vessel disappears. When treating the larger blue veins, the vein is collapses and seals which prevents the return of blood flow to the unsightly vein. The process is quick and is completed with little to no discomfort to the patient.
