The forehead is the part of the face that ages the earliest. Even at young ages, some people start to develop frown lines and horizontal forehead wrinkles. For many, the brows start to drop early in life. When performed at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery by Ozan Sozer, the brow lift can reverse all these signs of aging on the forehead and restore the brows to a more desirable level.
There are several methods of forehead rejuvenation we offer at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery. The endoscopic brow lift is one of the most recently developed techniques. An endoscope is a fiber-optic camera that allows us to elevate the brow and rejuvenate the forehead with minimal incisions. This camera is introduced under the skin and subcutaneous tissues through a little opening made behind the hairline. Surgery can be done under local anesthesia and usually takes thirty to thirty-five minutes. Patients can go home the same day, but recovery will take from one to two weeks. To assure soft tissue fixation during the forehead lift procedure, we use ENDOTINE Forehead™, a breakthrough platform technology designed to facilitate facial aesthetic procedures, reduce operating time and improve surgical outcomes. At El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, the brow lift can be combined with upper eyelid surgery to achieve optimum results. The minimally invasive character of endoscopic forehead lift makes the operation a more commonly performed procedure. The advantages of minor scarring, faster procedures and rapid recoveries make forehead rejuvenation desirable for patients as young as their 20s.
Like a brow lift, a facelift is a rejuvenation surgery. Performed at our West Texas practice, a facelift can give older patients significant improvement from the signs of aging with simplified, less invasive procedures.
During the initial consultation at our West Texas practice, your cosmetic surgeon will examine the face and neck, pointing out multiple things that can be done during the facelift. Like any cosmetic surgery, it is important for patients to have realistic expectations of their results. A highly accurate, animated, computerized visualization may assist the patient in better understanding what a facelift can do for them.
Most of the time, facelift surgery involves the whole face – the forehead, cheeks and the neck. Occasionally, it may be combined with a chemical peel or laser resurfacing to maximize effects. Before a facelift, the patient should stop smoking for at least two weeks. Most anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin, should also be avoided for two weeks before the surgery to reduce bleeding.
Patients usually stay in the hospital overnight after a facelift, going home the next day. Bruising from the facelift goes away in one to two weeks, but the swelling will last longer. A significant portion of the swelling will subside in the first month, but 100 percent resolution requires six months or longer.
After a facelift, patients may experience some change in the sensation in the skin or in the face, which can last for a year. In most cases, the majority of patients can go back to their regular life in a few weeks.
Potential risks include infection, excessive bleeding, some nerve damage, healing difficulties, changes in the sensation of the face and adverse reactions to anesthesia.
It is important to remember that a facelift is a rejuvenation surgery, making patients look younger and fresher.

The endoscopic midface lift, or cheek lift, procedure can lift sagging cheeks, smooth nasal furrows, and pull up the corners of your lips. At El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, the midface lift can be performed alone, or in combination with an endoscopic brow lift, eye lid surgery or as part of a full facelift.
A midface lift is performed through tiny incisions placed within the hairline of your temple area and on the inside of the mouth. During the procedure the fat pads of your cheeks will be repositioned up and over the cheekbones where they belong. The main benefits of endoscopic surgery include no visible incisions, minimal scarring, less bleeding, no hair loss, minimal numbness and a much quicker recovery when compared to traditional surgical techniques. Dr. Sozer uses a patented new device called ENDOTINE Midface™ to maximize fixation strength. The ENDOTINE Midface™ facilitates rapid deployment via a lower-lid, blepharoplasty incision in minutes, saving valuable OR time, while at the same time simplifying the procedure. All of which can expand your treatment options.
Sometimes the nagging signs of aging bother people and bring them to the plastic surgeon's office. Sometimes it is complaints about puffiness, bags, or dark circles under the eyes. Regardless, eyelid surgery can be done at almost any age.
At the initial consultation at our West Texas practice, the patient should clearly express what they expect from the eyelid surgery process. We will explain what can be done, and we will obtain information about the patient's medical history, medications that they use, and any allergies.
Performed at our West Texas practice, eyelid surgery can usually be done in the office as an out-patient procedure under local anesthesia. For surgery of the upper lid, the incision is hidden within the natural fold of the upper eyelid. Excessive tissue is removed through this incision. Because the incision is in the natural contour of the upper eyelid, it will be very well hidden when it heals.
At El Paso Cosmetic Surgery we use a revolutionary new product called ENDOTINE TransBleph™ that allows us to perform a brow lift through a single, upper lid incision used for a conventional blepharoplasty; helping our patients regain a youthful, beautiful appearance around the eyes, without undergoing a complete forehead lift.
For lower eyelid surgery, the incision can be placed inside the lower eyelid or on the lower eyelid just below the eyelashes. Wherever the incision is placed, it usually heals very well and scars are almost impossible to see. Through the incision, excessive tissue may be removed or fat may be distributed to eliminate puffiness or bulges.
After eyelid surgery at our West Texas practice, patients are generally able to go home the same day, and usually can go back to normal activities within a few days. The surgery itself may temporarily decrease the sensation in the eyelid skin or it may cause some dryness or irritation to the eye. Though the incisions heal in a few days, edema and bruising disappear in about two weeks. It is important not to take medications such as aspirin or Advil for two weeks before the surgery because of the potential increase in bleeding.
Rhinoplasty, often referred to as a "nose job," is a nose surgery performed to give the nose a more pleasing shape. Performed at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, rhinoplasty can positively affect the appearance of the whole face because the nose is so centrally located.
At El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, we recommend that our nose surgery patients are at least 15 years old before having rhinoplasty.
People have different expectations regarding the shape of the nose they want to have. Utilizing Dr. Sozer's imaging software capabilities shows the patient how they will look after the rhinoplasty, increases the amount of communication between the surgeon and the patient, and minimizes any surprises.
Rhinoplasty can be done right here at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery. Nose surgery patients have the choice of local or general anesthesia, and during the procedure incisions will be made inside the nose, reducing the appearance of scars. The length of nose surgery depends on the desired outcome, as well as the shape of the original nose.
Any problems, such as septum deviation or growth of certain structures in the nose that interfere with breathing, can be repaired at the same time as the nose surgery. In certain instances, insurance may cover part of the operation if the patient had any of the above-mentioned breathing problems.
Although there will be swelling and bruising around the nose, patients usually go home the same day. A cast placed over the nose will remain for about a week. Placed in the nose during surgery, packing is usually removed the next day. The bruising will go away in two weeks, but the swelling usually lasts longer, resolving significantly in the first month but lasting for up to six to eight months.
Occasionally, it may be necessary to perform a second revision procedure after the initial rhinoplasty. This is usually a more minor operation that does not cause bruising and swelling. Patients can go back to sports activities one month after the nose surgery, but they must avoid sports-related activities where it may be possible to have a trauma to the nose.
An operation used to correct prominent ear deformity, otoplasty can usually be performed on anyone older than 12 who has a problem with enlarged and/or outwardly extending ears. Done under local or general anesthesia in an office setting, these out-patients can go home the same day..
There are various techniques to correct this deformity. Incisions can be placed behind the ear or inside the ear, both of which leave virtually invisible marks. After the surgery, the patient may need to have a dressing on the ears for a few days. After the dressing is removed, some surgeons may recommend that patients wear something like a tennis headband at night to retain the ears' shape until they heal.
After the surgery, there will be some swelling and bruising around the ears. The bruising will go away in 1 or 2 weeks, but the swelling will take a few months to go away completely. Risks of the surgery include infection, bleeding, and the collection of blood under the skin.
Overall, otoplasty is a simple and safe procedure with highly effective results.
Many people complain of imbalances in their facial features, and would simply like to look better. For many of these people, the problem may be a weak chin. A weak chin can make the entire face appear less symmetrical. However, this problem is easily fixed through the insertion of a chin implant. A chin implant provides extra structure in the lower half of the face, and can feel just like real bone.
Lip enhancement is a very common and non-invasive mode of facial enhancement. Through an injection of collagen or another dermatological filler, lip enhancement can give patients full, eye-catching lips that can actually make them appear younger.
