Liposuction Candidates
Women and men who are of almost normal weight but who have isolated deposits of fat in certain areas of the body are generally good candidates for liposuction. Optimal results are achieved when the skin has good elasticity. When the skin lacks elasticity, an additional skin-tightening procedure may be necessary to produce the desired result.
Liposuction Treatment Areas
Almost any part of the body can benefit from liposuction, including the cheeks, neck, upper arms, breast, back, abdomen, waist, hips, buttock, thighs, inner knee, and ankles. Patients who are continuously gaining and losing weight are not good candidates for liposuction because if lifestyle changes are not permanently implemented to stabilize weight, the results will not be satisfactory. During your initial liposuction consultation at our El Paso, Texas office, we will perform an examination, evaluate areas targeted for liposuction, and discuss issues related to your general health and weight management.
Liposuction Procedure
During the liposuction procedure, fat is removed by inserting a small hollow tube called a cannula into one or more tiny incisions near the treatment area. The incisions are usually less than a quarter of an inch and placed in natural skin folds, making them less visible. We offer several liposuction techniques at our practice, including conventional, ultrasound assisted, and power-assisted methods. None of these techniques has proven superior to the others, but at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, we can tailor your liposuction procedure to your body type.
During liposuction, the area to be treated will be instilled with a tumescent solution containing local anesthetic and water that will reduce bleeding during the procedure and reduce pain, bruising, and swelling after the procedure. After injecting this fluid into the target area, the cannula is inserted and the fat removed.
After Liposuction Surgery
Due to swelling and bruising after the surgery, you may not fit into the clothes that you would normally wear. To promote proper healing, you will need to wear a special garment over the treated areas for four to six weeks. Swelling and bruising will usually subside in a few weeks, at which point you will be able to wear your regular clothes again. It takes two months, sometimes longer, for the swelling to fully disappear.
Vaser liposuction
Performed at almost any age, Vaser Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes unwanted fat deposits. Performed at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery in West Texas, Vaser Liposuction is our most popular procedure and it is also the most well-known aesthetic surgery procedure throughout the country.
Vaser liposuction candidates
Women and men who have almost a normal weight but who have isolated deposits of fat in certain areas of the body are good candidates for liposuction. Best results are obtained when the skin has good elasticity. When skin lacks elasticity, you may need a procedure to tighten and achieve the desired result.
Vaser liposution areas
Almost any part of the body can benefit from Vaser liposuction, including cheeks, neck, upper arms, breasts, back, abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, inner knee, and ankles. Patients who constantly gain and lose weight are not candidates for Vaser liposuction because if permanent changes are not implemented in lifestyle to stabilize weight, the results will not be satisfactory. During your initial consultation at our office in El Paso, Texas, we will examine and evaluate the target areas of consideration for liposuction and discuss questions related to general health and weight management in order to determine if Vaser liposuction is the correct solution.
Vaser liposuction procedure
Fat is removed by inserting a small hollow tube called a cannula into one or more small incisions near the treatment area. The incisions are usually less than a quarter of an inch long and placed in natural skin folds, making them less visible. There are several Vaser liposuction machines: conventional ultrasound machines and mechanical machines. None of these techniques has proven to be superior to the others, but Dr. Sozer may prefer to use one or a combination according to your body type.
During surgery, the treatment area is instilled with a tumescent solution containing local anesthetic, water, and other drugs that reduce bleeding during liposuction. After injecting the liquid in the target area, the cannula is inserted and one of the Vaser liposuction machines described above removes the fat.
After Vaser liposuction
Due to swelling and bruising that occur after surgery, clothes normally worn may fit tightly. To ensure proper healing and desired results, you should wear special garments in areas where Vaser liposuction was performed for four to six weeks. The swelling and bruising will subside, usually within a few weeks, at which point you will wear your regular clothes. It takes two months or sometimes longer, for the swelling (inflammation) to disappear completely.
