Am I A Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty or a ‘nose job’ is a reshaping surgery that can improve the entirety of your facial appearance. Reducing or resculpting the size and shape of your nose can significantly enhance the rest of your facial features. El Paso Cosmetic Surgery offers safe and effective surgical techniques for long-lasting results and minimal downtime.

What To Expect

At your initial consultation, one of our doctors will help you envision the outcome of your rhinoplasty with a unique 3D Vectra simulation. You’ll be able to see all of the potential possibilities to guide you through the decision-making process.

Once you determine a nose job is right for you, Dr. Sozer will perform the outpatient procedure under general anesthetics. After your procedure, a cast will be placed over your nose and you’ll be able to go home the same day.

Because a rhinoplasty is an invasive surgical procedure, some downtime is required. Your cast will generally be removed within 10 days post-surgery. Bruising should dissipate within two-weeks. Although significant swelling will be gone after the first month, it can take 6-8 months to fully go away.

Am I a Good Candidate?

The ideal candidate for rhinoplasty surgery is one that is otherwise healthy, both physically and emotionally. Men and women who were born with a nose that makes them self-conscious or unhappy may benefit from a nose job.

Although no two surgeries are the same, a rhinoplasty may be able to help you if you have one or more of the following cosmetic concerns;

  • Large or oversized nose
  • Crooked or asymmetrical shape
  • Excessively large or flared nostrils
  • A bump on the bridge of the nose

Choosing to surgically alter your nose is a big decision that requires a good deal of thought. We recommend that patients are at least 15 years of age before committing to a rhinoplasty. Patients under the age of 18 will require parent or guardian consent beforehand.

Rhinoplasty isn’t just for women. Many men are opting to reshape their nose through surgery for a more balanced appearance as well. Resculpting the nose can enhance a number of other facial features for a pleasing, proportionate look.

Clients who go into a rhinoplasty surgery with a healthy outlook and realistic expectations are more likely to achieve desired results.

If you have a medical condition such as a deviated septum, a septoplasty procedure can be done in conjunction with a rhinoplasty. Issues such as breathing problems, nosebleeds, and pain associated with a deviated septum can all be corrected.

When you opt for El Paso Cosmetic Surgery for your rhinoplasty you’re getting a highly trained staff dedicated to your overall well-being. You’ll be treated in a state-of-the-art facility by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon.
