Abdominoplasty is the term referred to a number of tummy tuck procedures. Here at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, we offer several types of tummy tuck to help you meet your needs. There are five different procedures, which are Mini Abdominoplasty, Standard Abdominoplasty, Extended Abdominoplasty, Double Extended with Vertical Incision Abdominoplasty and Circumferential Lift.
A tummy tuck tightens the abdomen with an incision between the pubic hairline and the belly button. This does leave a scar, although the size of the scar will depend on which type of abdominoplasty is used. The scar can be covered by a bikini/underwear and will fade over time, although how visible it is can vary.
Recovery from a tummy tuck looks different for different people. You might be able to return to non-strenuous activities in just a few weeks, although you will likely experience some discomfort and swelling during recovery. As with any surgery, there are risks associated with having a tummy tuck. Tummy tucks can usually be performed as outpatient surgery and are carried out under general anesthesia.
