How Does CoolTone Work?

CoolTone is a muscle-tightening procedure that uses magnetic muscle stimulation to cause contractions involuntarily. The goal of this treatment is to produce a leaner and more toned appearance without the patient consciously training specific areas via regular exercise. The technique helps to bypass the natural brain-muscle link, making muscle stimulation passive – increasing the amount of muscle contraction a person can withstand – ultimately leading to unmatched results.

About CoolTone

CoolTone is an FDA-approved procedure created by Allergan – the same company responsible for introducing the world to Botox and CoolSculpting. The treatment is a way to help people to achieve a more toned physique. The technique is entirely non-invasive and doesn’t rely on any penetration of the skin. People can use it to tighten many areas of the body, including common problem areas such as the thighs, abdominals, and buttocks.

How Does it Work?

CoolTone relies on creating a magnetic field around the muscles and then passing an electrical current through them. Muscle tissue is an excellent conductor of electricity – much better than fat and skin. Thus, when the CoolTone device applies a current, it causes the cells to contract, working them hard.

The innovative technology is essentially magnetic muscle contraction. It bypasses other types of cells (which don’t conduct current well) and directly stimulates the muscle. Muscle cells contract, helping to tone and shape them and after treatments, patients experience tighter and firmer thighs, buttocks, and abdominals.

The procedure takes around forty minutes to complete. During that time, you will sense your muscles tightening, similar to what happens when you voluntarily squeeze them.

Most patients at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery receive multiple treatments over an extended period. An optimal treatment plan usually involves four sessions over the course of two weeks.

CoolTone is a non-invasive procedure. Once you’ve finished your treatment, you can immediately get back to your routine with no downtime.

Side effects are rare but can occur. Mostly they include temporary muscular soreness and occasional spasm. Some patients can experience tendon pain and redness near treatment sites. However, the majority of these side effects resolve themselves quickly.

Am I a Candidate for CoolTone Treatments?

CoolTone is a safe and effective FDA-approved procedure designed to enhance the appearance of problem areas of the body, including the stomach, thighs, and buttocks. The vast majority of patients, therefore, are suitable candidates for the treatment. However, it would be best if you spoke with the experienced team at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery in advance of any therapy to ensure that it is safe for you to use the procedure.

Please note, CoolTone is not for everyone. People with metal or electrically-powered implants, such as implanted hearing devices, defibrillators, and pacemakers, should not use the treatment.

Unsuitable candidates also include women who are pregnant, patients with a history of epilepsy, anybody who has had recent surgery, or individuals with malignant tumors.

Adriana is the best! She made sure I was happy and comfortable throughout the procedure. Will definitely go back.
