How Much Does Blepharoplasty Cost?

Your eyes are one of your most expressive and unique features. Unfortunately, they also tend to age quickly. That’s what makes eyelid surgery one of the single most effective procedures to rejuvenate your appearance.

What is Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)?

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery or an eyelid lift, is a surgery to correct signs of aging around the eyes. This can include upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or both. Blepharoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries thanks to its ability to correct wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles, and excess or sagging skin around the eyelids.

How Much Does Eyelid Surgery Cost?

Like any cosmetic procedure, the cost of an eyelid lift will vary based on several factors, such as your geographic location and the provider’s experience. The national average price of blepharoplasty is $4,120. However, this doesn’t include all associated costs like anesthesia and facility fees.

Your cost for blepharoplasty will be based on your unique procedure and its complexity. You may pay less for just an upper eyelid lift, and more for a combined eyelid lift or eyelid surgery paired with another procedure.

How Does Blepharoplasty Work?

At El Paso Cosmetic Surgery, eyelid surgery is an outpatient procedure at our accredited surgical facility that can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Dr. Sozer will make small, well-hidden incisions in the upper eyelid crease or within the lower lid. He will then remove excess skin and fat, smooth out wrinkled folds, and gently lift tissues to a more youthful position.

Depending on your goals, we may recommend adding a brow lift to your procedure for optimal results. Having these procedures done simultaneously can save you money and downtime.

Blepharoplasty Results and Recovery

You’ll be able to go home the same day as your surgery. We recommend taking it easy for the first few days, and you can expect some discomfort and swelling. Most patients can return to work and normal activities in one to two weeks.

Swelling may obscure your results for a couple of weeks, and full healing can take a few months. But you’ll soon enjoy brighter, more youthful-looking eyes and a rejuvenated appearance. The results of eyelid surgery typically last several years or even indefinitely.

Am I a Good Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?

Most healthy, non-smoking adults are eligible for eyelid surgery. You may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty if you have:

  • Drooping and sagging around your eyes
  • Fat bags under your eyes
  • “Hooding”
  • Excess skin and wrinkles around your eyes
  • Dark under-eye circles
  • Puffy eyelids

One of our El Paso surgeons will evaluate your eyes and determine if eyelid surgery is right for you. We also offer non-surgical alternatives for eyelid rejuvenation at our Advanced Clinical Medical Spa, such as Botox®.
