Face Fat Grafting
Fat grafting or fat transfer essentially uses liposuction fat from other parts of your body and injected into different parts of the body.
An alternative non-invasive procedure that can be provided at our Advanced Clinical Medical Spa is an injectable filler such as Voluma XC, Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus, Vollure XC, Volbella XC.
Candidates for Fat Grafting/Fat Transfer
A facial fat grafting/transfer is probably one the single best facial rejuvenation procedures one can undergo to give that fresh, youthful look. This procedure can be performed at any age if surgical indication is present; therefore, a proper evaluation is best to see if surgery or non-surgical procedures are appropriate. You may also be a good candidate if:
- Signs of aging
- Have loss of volume to the face
- Have a positive outlook and realistic goals for what surgery can accomplish
- Individuals committed to leading a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition and fitness
Rejuvenating the Face with Fat Grafting/Fat Transfer
Fat injections are a soft natural tissue filler that treats facial wrinkles and enhances different areas of the face, such as the forehead, temporal, under eyes, chin, nose, lips and cheekbones. As we may know, our body fat is natural and non-allergenic. Fat grafting/transfer provides volume to the areas that have been lost. Unlike other manufactured fillers, fat injections are long-lasting. Fat injections may last from several months to indefinitely.
Aside from long lasting benefits, fat grafting can:
- Fill in deep wrinkles like frown lines and nasolabial folds
- Rejuvenate tissue loss
- Can be used as a natural filler for more volumized lips
- Gives a refreshed and youthful face look
Fat Grafting/Fat Transfer Treatment Areas
Fat can be transferred in different areas of the body; aside from the face. Some of the most common areas are: hands, breast, buttocks, and hips. For more information on these procedures, please see Brazilian butt lift and composite breast augmentation.
Fat Grafting/Fat Transfer Procedure
Fat grafting/transfer is an outpatient procedure and is done in our private state-of-the-art surgical center.
The process of fat grafting/transfer requires the obtainment of fat through liposuction from an area of the body. The most common areas that the fat is obtained from is the abdomen, flanks (love handles), and/or thighs. Once the fat has been extracted, the fat is washed, the blood is separated from the fat, and then the fat is placed in a special syringe. Dr. Sozer will then inject the targeted area to provide the desired fullness.
