How Much is a Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is among the most popular aesthetic surgical procedures. Changing your nose’s appearance can dramatically affect the balance and symmetry of your features. If you feel like your nose does not fit the rest of your face, rhinoplasty can help.

What is Rhinoplasty?

If you feel self-conscious about your nose, it can be hard to avoid. Unlike other concerns, a large, bumpy, or asymmetrical nose is impossible to hide. Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to give it the desired appearance and help it match your features. Your surgeon may also perform a rhinoplasty to correct problems with breathing through the nose.

How Much is a Rhinoplasty?

The cost of rhinoplasty varies widely since each procedure is different. Factors that affect this cost include:

  • Your surgeon’s skill and reputation
  • Your location
  • The type of rhinoplasty
  • The complexity of the procedure

Rhinoplasty costs usually start at around $7000. We recommend scheduling a consultation to obtain an accurate estimate to avoid any surprises.

How Does Rhinoplasty Work?

Your surgeon will perform your rhinoplasty in our accredited surgical center. They may use an open or closed technique, depending on which allows them to give your nose the appearance you want.

Closed Rhinoplasty

A closed rhinoplasty works best for minor issues that do not require significant reshaping. This procedure uses incisions inside the nostrils to avoid visible scars. Closed rhinoplasty cannot make substantial adjustments to the size or shape of the nose.

Open Rhinoplasty

In this procedure, the surgeon uses an incision between the two nostrils to lift the skin. Open rhinoplasty gives the surgeon better access so they can perform more significant changes to the nasal structure.

Your surgeon will assess your nose during your consultation and determine which type of rhinoplasty will work best for you.

Functional or Aesthetic Rhinoplasty?

While many think of aesthetic procedures when they think of rhinoplasty, it has other uses. If your concerns with your nose are primarily cosmetic, your procedure is considered an aesthetic rhinoplasty. If it corrects a problem that prevents you from breathing through your nose, it is regarded as a functional rhinoplasty

What is Recovery Like From a Rhinoplasty?

You will have a cast over your nose after surgery. Your surgeon will take this off after about ten days. You will have some bruising and swelling that lasts several weeks. You can usually resume most activities after about a month.

Am I a Candidate for a Rhinoplasty?

Anyone 15 years or older might be a good candidate for rhinoplasty, although those under 18 will need parental consent. Good candidates have reasonable expectations and are in overall good health. You may not be a good candidate if you have specific health problems.
