What Is Dermaplaning? 

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic treatment that revitalizes dull skin. It is a physical exfoliation treatment that uses a scalpel to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (soft facial hair) from the face. Removing vellus hair gives you an even base to work with and allows for smoother application of makeup.

Over time there is a build-up of dead skin cells, oils, and debris on the surface of the skin that can clog the pores and give the complexion a dull appearance. Exfoliating this topmost layer will reveal a fresh layer of smoother, healthier, more radiant skin.

Dermaplaning is safe and effective for virtually all skin types. It is a simple in-office treatment that takes less than 30 minutes to complete.  

What to Expect With Your Dermaplaning Treatment

Our aesthetician will hold your skin taut while gliding the dermaplaning tool across the surface. The scalpel is held at a 45-degree angle and gently removes damaged skin cells and vellus hair. Your skin will look smoother and brighter after treatment.

There is no downtime after dermaplaning, so you can resume regular activities right away. However, it’s essential to limit sun exposure for the first 24 hours and apply sunscreen, as your skin will be somewhat sensitive after treatment.

Dermaplaning can be combined with other cosmetic procedures to achieve optimal skin improvements.
