What is Qwo®?

You had two options for treating cellulite in the past: invasive procedures like liposuction or skin-tightening treatments that may not achieve your desired results. The FDA has approved Qwo® as the first injectable cellulite treatment. This new option for removing cellulite can provide aesthetically pleasing, long-lasting results.

What is Qwo®?

Qwo® is an innovation in cellulite treatment that lets you receive a series of injections that restore smoother, more even skin. Qwo® has been approved to work on moderate to severe cellulite in women’s buttocks. Most women cannot get rid of cellulite with diet and exercise alone. Qwo® addresses the root cause of cellulite and stops it from causing your dimpled skin.

How Does Qwo® Work?

Cellulite occurs when fibrous collagen bands adhere to the skin and underlying muscle. As a result, the skin becomes pulled down into dimples. Forced between these restrictive bands, fat cells also bulge upward, making the skin uneven and causing a “lumpy” appearance. Celli\ulite often becomes more visible with age as thinning skin makes the dimples more noticeable.
These fibrous bands are made up of collagen. Qwo® uses enzymes called collagenases that break down certain types of collagen fibers. When these bands break down, they release the skin to lift up and remove the overlying dimple. Fat cells can also redistribute more smoothly to eliminate the uneven appearance of cellulite.

Is There Any Downtime with Qwo®?

Some people experience swelling and minor soreness around the injection sites. This should not prevent you from resuming your usual activities. Any bruising that appears should disappear entirely within about three weeks.

What Results Will I See Qwo®?

Most people need three treatments, each three weeks apart, to see their best results. Each treatment takes as little as ten minutes, making Qwo® a fast and effective option for cellulite removal. You will start seeing results within a few weeks of your first session as the fibrous bands break down and the skin becomes free. You will notice your cellulite dimples become smoother and the uneven appearance become even and smooth. Results continue to develop throughout your treatment and even afterward.

Am I a Good Candidate for Qwo®?

Women with moderate to severe cellulite in their buttocks make the best candidates for Qwo®. We may recommend that you avoid Qwo® if you have had an adverse reaction to collagenase enzymes in the past. People with an infection in or near the treatment area will need to have this treated before getting Qwo®.
