Pre-Operative Visit

Congratulations, your surgery is right around the corner! In preparation for your approaching procedure, you will have a pre-operative appointment. The pre-operative appointment is a crucial part of the surgical process, and it ensures that your surgical experience is as seamless as possible.

Pre-Operative Appointment/Lab Work:

You will be scheduled to come into our office approximately three weeks prior to surgery for your pre-operative appointment. Please try to be on time for your appointment. Failure to be on time can result in longer waiting times and possible rescheduling. Appointment times are M-F from 8-11 am and 1-2 pm. Please expect to be at this appointment for approximately one hour.

During your preoperative visit you will:

  • Meet with your designated manager to sign consents, go over final details, and make all final financial payments.
  • Get all of your lab work done. You will need to arrive at your appointment fasted (nothing to eat or drink past midnight 12:00 am) unless indicated. Based on your results, you may be required to get surgical clearance from your specialist or PCP. Getting clearance will be your financial responsibility. Failure to get clearance can result in the rescheduling of your surgery. Additional fees may apply. Please bring a list of all the medications you are taking.
  • Receive all necessary prescriptions. Loss of prescription will result in a $5 fee per prescription. Medications are not included in your price quote.
  • Have your photos taken. We require all our patients to have before photographs. This is for your medical records only. Please be prepared to be completely nude (depending on surgery) for photographs. There are no exceptions.

You will not meet with Dr. Sozer on this day unless proper arrangements have been made. You will meet with your surgeon on the day of the surgery to go over your surgical plan an additional time. You can make a separate “Talk Before Surgery” appointment with your surgeon prior to surgery at no additional cost.
